Not Forgotten

One of my favorite scriptures is found in Isaiah and in the Book of Mormon.  I remembered it when an Elder B, who was suffering simultaneously from four serious illnesses (if I remember them all correctly) included typhoid, dengue and chikungunya.  After reading a talk I shared by Elder Holland, he told me, Sister Starkey, "I'm not going home early!"  While sitting in the office one day, he studied a painting on the entry wall.  As I passed him, he stopped me and asked me why I thought the Savior, even though he has a resurrected body, would carry the nail marks in his hands.

Together, we reviewed  1 Nephi 21:14-16.
...Yet will I not forget thee...Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Though rushed, in November, we were able to walk inside this garden tomb.
I testify, that when we are still and quiet, it is possible to
feel and know that there truly was a "first fruits" who rose
from the dead with a promise for the rest of us!
 A hoorah for my young missionary friends who choose to stick things out.  And to loved ones who have difficulties (or walls)  that do not easily (or ever) diminish but they refuse to quit.  Thank you for enduring and trusting and continuing with a brightness of hope!

I am adding some of my favorite pictures of the Savior that I found on pinterest, most from lds.org and a few from "prepare to serve" to illustrate the full verses.  Blessings to each of you in this month of remembering!   Sincerely, Laurene
1 Nephi 21: 14 But, behold, Zion hath said: The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me—but he will show that he hath not.
15 For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL TIME OF YEAR TO HELP US TO REMEMBER ALL THAT COMES FROM THIS AMAZING BIRTH, AND ALL THAT HE GAVE THROUGH HIS TEACHINGS AND HIS CHOICES TO HELP US TO LOVE AND CHERISH ALL THAT HE SHOWED US, AND TAUGHT US AND SUFFERED FOR US, TO MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO RETURN, AS FAMILIES TO LIVE WITH HIM AND OUR LOVED ONES, AGAIN!
